Narrativas com imagens. Cinema, literatura e fotografia

Abstract

Como ler a imagem visual junto ao texto verbal como estudos experimentais sobre a cultura? Que narrativas emergem dos interstícios da imagem e da palavra? Estas são as perguntas fundamentais de que partem este artigo que busca compreender o cruzamento entre imagem e literatura tomando como referência central a obra de Julio Cortázar e suas experimentações. Notamos que o estabelecimento desta forma particular de narrativa sugere não apenas uma hibridização de formas, mas também desafios teóricos e metodológicos alternativos para sua interpretação. Para isso, este artigo recorre a narrativas com imagens como formas de investigação mais próximas à literatura, cinema e fotografia. É interessante ressaltar que o recurso à interdisciplinaridade fornece os melhores meios para o texto híbrido de imagem e escrita e à teoria literária é necessária a incorporação destes elementos teóricos que atravessam diferentes campos.

How may we read the visual image together with the text as experimental studies on culture? Which narratives emerge from the in-between zone of image and word? This article considers these fundamental questions and intends to point out the relation between image and literature taking as a main reference Julio Cortázar’s works and its experimentations. It is important to notice that, by setting this particular type of narrative, he suggests not only a hybridization of forms, but also alternative practices of theory and methodology for its interpretation. This article takes advantage of photography and cinematography theories, as they are closer of the production of images in culture. We conclude that an interdisciplinary strategy provides the best mediums for understanding the hybrid text of image and writing. Furthermore, it is necessary to incorporate these elements to literary theory.
