Universidad y política en la Argentina. “Desperonización” y redefinición regional : de una universidad para el litoral a una para el nordeste

Abstract

El artículo aborda la compleja relación entre política y universidad a partir de un estudio de historia regional. En el marco de la coyuntura argentina iniciada con el derrocamiento del gobierno peronista en 1955, se analizan los diversos procesos que confluyeron en la creación de una nueva universidad, la del Nordeste, a partir de la preexistente universidad del Litoral. Partiendo del análisis de la prensa local y fuentes institucionales, el trabajo se concentra en tres aspectos: el modo en que se articulan el escenario político, la sociabilidad académica y la movilización asociativa frente al proyecto universitario del nordeste; el lugar del legado reformista; y el impacto del clima de “ideas desarrollistas” en la estructuración de ambas casas de estudios en el marco de un proceso de redefinición regional del país.

The article addresses the complex relationship between politics and the university based on a study of regional history. Within the framework of the Argentine situation that began with the overthrow of the Peronist government in 1955, the various processes that converged in the creation of a new university, the Northeast University, based on the pre-existing University of the Litoral, are analyzed. Starting from the analysis of the local press and institutional sources, the work focuses on three aspects: the way in which the political scene, academic sociability, and associative mobilization are articulated, in the face of the northeast university project; the place of the reformist legacy; and the impact of the climate of “developmental ideas” in the structuring of both houses of studies within the framework of a process of regional redefinition of the country.
