Estado y regulación social de la muerte. Construcción estatal de las mentalidades y conciencia colectiva en el nordeste argentino contemporáneo

Abstract

El escrito presenta elementos para comprender el papel del Estado en el tratamiento social de tres casos de muertes excepcionales en el nordeste argentino, ocurridos entre 2012 y 2017. Para ello, recupera los conceptos de construcción estatal de las mentalidades y conciencia colectiva, presentes en las teorizaciones de P. Bourdieu (1997), P. Corrigan y D. Sayer (2007) sobre el Estado y su función de construir ideas desde las cuales se interpreta y actúa en el mundo social. Partiendo de allí, reconoce una serie de “rituales” o formas típicas de acción, tendientes a constituir un ordenamiento acorde al desarrollo del sistema económico; entre las cuales destaca la administración de la vida en función de su utilidad y el descarte de los cuerpos sobrantes, como fundamento para la inacción estatal en el tratamiento de los casos referidos.

This article outlines the keys to understand the role of the State in the social treatment of three exceptional death cases occurring between 2012 and 2017 in northeastern Argentina. To this end, it brings forward the concepts of mindset construction by the State and collective consciousness, which have been theorized by P. Bourdieu (1997), P. Corrigan and D. Sayer (2007) when addressing the State and its role in the construction of the ideas that serve as a basis for interpreting and acting in the social world. From there, it recognizes a series of “rituals” or prototypical forms of action, which are conducive for building an order concurrent with the development of the economic system; among which the life administration in terms of usefulness and the disposal of surplus bodies stand out as the foundation of state inaction in the treatment of the referred cases.
