A qué delincuentes juzga el diario Época? Un análisis sobre la construcción discursiva de un enemigo público

Abstract

El objetivo del presente artículo es determinar los estereotipos que subyacen en el discurso periodístico policial del diario Época cuando representa a las personas que delinquen, los cuales repercuten en el grado de supuesta peligrosidad que se les atribuye. Para ello, se describió el tipo de contrato de lectura imperante en el matutino sobre los sujetos delincuentes, en clave de enemigo/adversario discursivo en común con el lector tipo, y la descripción del estereotipo de sujeto delincuente que Época construye y naturaliza en sus discursos y su relación con la estigmatización. Se analizaron, para tal fin, piezas publicadas por ese medio entre noviembre y diciembre de 2018 y enero de 2019, teniendo en cuenta dos supuestos que guiaron el trabajo: a) que a través de un contrato cómplice el Época construye y refuerza la idea de un tipo de delincuente que supone un enemigo común con sus lectores, y b) que mediante el empleo de recursos argumentativos el discurso del medio estigmatiza a estos sujetos/enemigos por medio de la naturalización de estereotipaciones negativas que refuerzan ideas preconcebidas sobre ellos. El estudio sociosemiótico, como tal, intentó brindar un aporte al estudio de las operaciones discursivas de diarios sobre hechos cotidianos, en este caso, la construcción diaria sobre los sujetos delincuentes y los hechos delictivos en el medio gráfico más vendido de la provincia de Corrientes, así como dejar abiertas nuevas preguntas y líneas de investigación para continuar esta clase de abordajes.

is article is entitled "What criminals does the newspaper Época judge? An analysis of the discursive construction of a public enemy". Its objective is to determine the stereotypes that underlie the police journalistic discourse of this media when it represents people who commit crimes, which have an impact on the degree of supposed dangerousness attributed to them. To this end, we described the type of reading contract prevailing in the newspaper about delinquent subjects, in the key of enemy/discursive adversary in common with the typical reader; and the description of the stereotype of delinquent subjects that Época constructs and naturalizes in its discourse and its relationship with stigmatization. Pieces published by the newspaper between November and December 2018 and January 2019 were analyzed, taking into account two assumptions that guided the work: a) that, through a complicit contract, Época constructs and reinforces the idea of a criminal type that it assumes as a common enemy with its readers; and b) that, through the use of argumentative resources, the newspaper's discourse stigmatizes these subjects/enemies through the naturalization of negative stereotypes that reinforce preconceived ideas about them. e socio-semiotic study attempted to provide a brief contribution to the study of the materializations of the discursive operations of newspapers on everyday events, in this case, the daily construction of delinquent subjects and criminal acts in the best-selling graphic media of the province of Corrientes, as well as to open new questions and lines of research to continue this kind of approach.
