Opinión de estudiantes avanzados sobre el uso de aulas virtuales en la Facultad de Medicina-Universidad Nacional del Nordeste

Abstract

El avance de la ciencia y la llegada de la tecnología a nuestros días provocan fenómenos de grandes transformaciones en la sociedad. El éxito o fracaso de una innovación educativa depende de factores como, la forma en la que los diferentes actores interpretan, redefinen o filtran la información y dan validez a los cambios propuestos. Cada centro educativo universitario debe responder desde su propia especificidad, partiendo del contexto donde se halla, considerando factores a tener en cuenta como ser la sociedad donde se va a desempeñar, tradición y fortalezas que posee. A razón de lo mencionado anteriormente, se tuvo la iniciativa de investigar en los estudiantes de la institución sobre la satisfacción respecto al aula virtual (AV), campus virtual (CV) y tecnologías de la información y la comunicación (TICs). Se realizó un estudio descriptivo, transversal con los estudiantes que cursan cuarto, quinto y sexto año de la Carrera de Medicina de la Universidad Nacional del Nordeste. Como herramienta de recolección de datos se utilizó un cuestionario Google Forms de forma online, anónimo durante septiembre a diciembre de 2019. De la población estudiada, el 64% corresponde al género femenino. La media de edad fue de 24 años. El 66,9% de los estudiantes dicen acceder con más frecuencia al CV desde una computadora. El 88,7% opina que el AV es una herramienta muy Util que les ayuda a estudiar, tener a disposición apuntes, vídeos y lo necesario para las clases y organizar su tiempo. El 95,7% también opina que las AV son una vía de conocimiento que ayudan a aprender y comprender mejor las asignaturas que cursa. En referencia a los recursos del AV que más utiliza, 65,5% refieren que los apuntes son los materiales que más ayudan al momento de estudiar. El 92,9% piensa que las TICs son una ayuda, se adaptan a las necesidades académicas, les permite auto guiarse en el aprendizaje y organizarse mejor. Los estudiantes opinan que la buena organización de la AV es un elemento clave para un mejor uso. Por lo tanto, sugieren como puntos críticos que los recursos virtuales sean subidos en tiempo y que los docentes respondan rápidamente a las consultas hechas en los foros. Asumen en su mayoría que la AV son un complemento excelente de las clases presenciales.

The success or failure of an educational innovation depends on factors such as the way in which the different actors interpret, redefine or filter the information and validate the proposed changes. Each university educational center must respond from its own specificity, starting from the context where it is located, considering factors to be taken into account, such as the society where it is going to perform, tradition and strengths it possesses. As a result of the aforementioned, the initiative of the students of the institution was taken to investigate satisfaction with respect to the virtual classroom (VC), virtual campus (CV) and information and communication technologies (ICT). A descriptive, cross-sectional study was carried out with the students who are in the fourth, fifth and sixth years of the Medicine degree at the National University of the Northeast. As a data collection tool, an online Google Forms questionnaire was used, anonymous during September to December 2019. Of the population studied, 64% correspond to the female gender. The mean age was 24 years. 66.9% of students say they access the CV more frequently from a computer. 88.7% believe that VC is a very useful tool that helps them study, have notes, videos and what is necessary for classes available and organize their time. 95.7% also believe that VCs are a way of knowing that help them learn and better understand the subjects they take. In reference to the VC resources that he uses the most, 65.5% refer that the notes are the materials that help the most when studying. 92.9% think that ICTs are helpful, adapt to academic needs, allow them to guide themselves in learning and organize themselves better. Students believe that good organization of VC is a key element for better use. Therefore, they suggest as critical points that virtual resources be uploaded in time and that teachers respond quickly to queries made in the forums. They mostly assume that VC is an excellent complement to face-to-face classes.
