The provinces of Chaco and Corrientes systems have channeled surface runoff, groundwater and transitional belonging to the plains of northeastern Argentina. The first, which are the subject of this paper, in Chaco and Corrientes, are conditioned or determined by physiographic relationships of where transit. This plain has a very old polygenic outstanding geological formation, with strong and varied processes of modeling, insignificant, with medium to low permeability, with a relief of small amplitude and energy, an oscillating climate, especially in the Quaternary and pulses excess and water deficit, waterlogging and suffers a slow and difficult runoff, causing problems in the environment and in human action. This requires a thorough knowledge of the causes and how to manifest, as well as type I increased flooding, to plan strategies and implement structural and non-structural measures in line with reality, for proper management of drainage systems since some of watersheds are shared by different jurisdictions: departmental, provincial and international.
