Elites culturales y construcción de la región en el Nordeste argentino en el siglo XX

Abstract

Partiendo de la premisa de que las regiones pueden considerarse productos históricos, nos proponemos identificar los esfuerzos realizados por las elites culturales de las ciudades de Resistencia y Corrientes -situadas en el nordeste argentino y separadas por el río Paraná-, para definir una región que las tuviera como centro respectivamente. Realizamos un análisis de la formación de los campos culturales en ambas ciudades y, en este contexto, determinamos la producción de conocimiento histórico que sirviera de base para sus construcciones regionalistas. Para ello, atendemos al imaginario territorial de estos actores de un espacio periférico del estado nacional, en diálogo entre sí y con los erigidos desde otras regiones de Argentina, así como al rol del Estado en el proceso de diferenciación regional.

Starting from the premise that regions can be considered historical products, we aim to identify the efforts made by the cultural elites of the cities of Corrientes and Resistencia -located in northeastern Argentina and separated by the Parana river- for defining a region that had them as a center respectively. We make an analysis of the formation of cultural fields in both cities and, in this context, the production of historical knowledge that based their regionalist constructions. For this purpose, we attend the territorial imaginary constructed by the actors of a peripheral space in dialogue with each other and whit the central regions of Argentina, and the role of the state in the process of regional differentiation.
