La Biblioteca Pública Popular nº 33 “General Manuel Belgrano” de la ciudad de Resistencia (Chaco) y sus usuarios : sus características internas y externas como clave

Abstract

Este artículo se propone a identificar las necesidades de información de usuarios que concurren a la Biblioteca Pública Popular nº 33 “General Manuel Belgrano”, ubicada en el barrio “La Liguria”, en la ciudad de Resistencia, Provincia del Chaco, Argentina. Su ubicación, productos y servicios incentivan, principalmente a usuarios que viven en zonas aledañas a ella. Metodológicamente, se ha partido de una lógica cualitativa de investigación, a fin de poder caracterizar determinados factores que condicionan al comportamiento de los usuarios de esta unidad de información, a partir de la identificación de sus factores internos y externos, triangulando tres instrumentos de recolección de informaciones: la encuesta, la entrevista y aspectos del Modelo NEIN de Villaseñor Rodríguez & Calva González (2016). Tras la aplicación de estas estrategias, se ha concluido que las bibliotecas públicas y populares contribuyen para el acceso a la información de su público y que la biblioteca estudiada, en especial, fomenta también a la ciudadanía, a partir de la prestación de servicios comunitarios, pero también incentiva el uso de sus servicios bibliotecarios, adhiriendo usuarios cada vez más fieles y poniendo en valor la historia del barrio en que está ubicada.This article aims to identify the information needs of users attending the nº 33 “General Manuel Belgrano’’ Popular Public Library, located in the neighborhood "La Liguria", at the city of Resistencia, Province of Chaco, Argentina. Its location, products and services encourage, mainly, users who live in neighboring areas. Methodologically, we started from a qualitative research logic, in order to be able to characterize certain factors that condition the behavior of the users of this information unit, from the identification of its internal and external factors, triangulating three information gathering instruments: the survey, the interview and aspects of the NEIN Model from Villaseñor Rodríguez & Calva González (2016). After the application of these strategies, it was concluded that public and popular libraries contribute to the access to information of their public and that the library studied, in particular, inspires citizenship, from the provision of community services, but also encourages the use of its library services, adhering increasingly loyal users and adding value to the history of the neighborhood where it is located.
