The aim of this trial was to determine positive infections to Campylobacter sp. and Tritrichomonas sp. in buffalos from northeastern Argentina, for prevalence studies. Samples of 151 males from Corrientes (n = 54), Chaco (n = 12) and Formosa (n = 85) provinces, were obtained by preputial scrape during pre-service season. The laboratory diagnosis were carried out by a direct immunofluorescence technique for Campylobacter sp. and using a culture medium for Tritrichomonas sp. Only one buffalo from Chaco Province was positive to campylobacteriosis. Since the tests were repeated in post-service period with similar results, it is considered that the infection would be also low or null in females. Taking into account that these diseases are capable to affect the reproductive capacity of cattle, the need of periodic epizootiological surveillance on buffalo’s livestock is emphasized.
