The objective of this study is to relate the social, economic and educational factors with the oral health status of patients who attended the University Dental Hospital, the Faculty of Dentistry of the National University of the Northeast, in 2015. Clinical Histories and Odontograms were used as information resources, data were collected: ages, sex, level of instruction or education, annexed instruments were made to inquire about socioeconomic and occupational factors. Thus, oral data were also taken through the odontogram where the health and / or disease status of the patients is reflected. Statistical analysis was performed with the Chi square test establishing the frequencies of the variables by relating them. The results obtained reflect that the patients cared for are young adults between 20 and 39 years of age, the majority of which are female; more than half of the patients included in the study are unemployed. The state of oral health is observed, where the majority preserve almost all their teeth, relating it to their level of education where the patients present primary or secondary preparation. In conclusion, we can directly relate some factors such as education where a higher degree of instruction improves general and oral health; social and economic factors are related to quality of life. The female sex is the one that mostly attends dental care. Other associated factors emerge from this study to deepen the investigation.
