Resumen
Corrientes ha sido una de las provincias fundadoras del estado nacional argentino y su
crecimiento normativo e institucional ha tenido particularidades propias. El proceso de consolidación
estadual provincial ha sido lento y dificultoso, consolidándose a partir de la Constitución Nacional del año
1853 y se fortalece a partir de la década de 1860. En este trabajo, hacemos una descripción y análisis de
las estructuras del estado correntino durante el gobierno de Manuel Ignacio Lagraña, dos años antes de la
ocupación paraguaya, la que desencadenará la guerra de la Triple Alianza. Se describen los espacios donde
el estado provincial trata incipientemente de generar algunas políticas organizativas internas, todas ellas
vinculadas al funcionamiento pleno del estado. Se analiza la infraestructura dedicada a la justicia en los
departamentos de campaña, como así también el rol incipiente de la educación y el importante rol de las
postas para mantener comunicado y unido el espacio territorial y la efectiva jurisdicción correntina.
Corrientes has been one of the founding provinces of the Argentinian nation-state. Its policy and institutional growth had special characteristics. The slow and difficult provincial state-building process was consolidated from the 1853 and strengthened since 1860. In this paper we describe and analyze the structures of the Province of Corrientes state under the government of Manuel Ignacio Lagraña, two years before the Paraguayan militar occupation, which trigger the War of the Triple Alliance. We also analize the areas where the provincial state was incipiently generating some internal organizational policies, all linked to the full functioning of the state. Besides, we describe the infrastructure dedicated to justice at the countryside departments, as well as the emerging role of education and the importance of the posts (postas) to keep informed and united the territorial space and the effective jurisdiction of Corrientes.
