We present a case of a 9-year-old girl who went to the dental clinic accompanied by her mother with a lip injury that impeded her from talking and eating. In the interview the mother said that the previous day had been made the extraction of two lower teeth. Upon examination, it was observed an ulceration of approximately 1 cm in diameter with whitish surface produced by a fibrin membrane, of irregular shape and defined margins. From a correct anamnesis and exhaustive clinical examination the pathology was diagnosed as traumatic ulceration after local anesthesia applied to the inferior dental nerve and lingual nerve. It was treated with ibuprofen 250 mg, mouthwash with chlorhexidine 0.12% and soft, cold and nutritious feeding. After 10 days, the lesion had completely disappeared. The child population is a vulnerable group for this type of pathology so whenever a treatment is performed with local anesthesia, it is necessary to inform the parents about the preventive measures to be taken into account to avoid possible complications and, if they should occur, immediately attend the professional to be treated.
