Alternative reflections on the cultural and environmental heritage of Corrientes, Argentina Rus, María Florencia En este trabajo busco reflexionar sobre algunos casos pertenecientes al patrimonio cultural y ambiental ribereño de la ciudad de Corrientes, rescatando fragmentos historiográficos, que se centran en los sujetos y formas de producción invisibilizados detrás de las materialidades, y revisando los conflictos urbanos actuales, desplegados por la puesta en marcha de nuevos criterios de transformación espacial. Estos se han constituido para muchos en momentos de peligro, en donde se promueven desde la agenda urbana (a partir de coaliciones entre gobiernos y empresarios) nuevos mecanismos de privatización, de reestructuración, acumulación de beneficios económicos y reparto diferencial de costos socioambientales. La amenaza se sostiene frente a la posibilidad de reincidir en una historia de grandes injusticias y de perder los lugares donde se sitúa la memoria o las posibilidades de habitar (en un sentido amplio) de los más desfavorecidos. Como en un hilo marginal donde los hechos del presente inauguran preguntas sobre el pasado, sostengo que el momento actual llama a reconocer las formas de enunciación del desacuerdo para poner en duda el devenir de estos espacios diferencialmente valorados. En esta investigación exploratoria, a partir del trabajo de archivo (fuentes documentales y periodísticas) y el trabajo de campo que siguió los eventos de lucha de distintos colectivos que resisten transformaciones o promueven otras formas de valoración de los espacios ribereños, se seleccionaron tres casos que me permiten indagar en los rastros historiográficos y las disputas presentes.; In this work I persue to reflect on some cases belonging to the riverside cultural and environmental heritage of the city of Corrientes, rescuing historiographic fragments that focus on the subjects and forms of production that become invisible behind the materialities and reviewing the current urban conflicts unfolded by the implementation of new criteria of spatial transformation. These have been constituted for many in times of danger, where new mechanisms of privatization, restructuring, accumulation of economic benefits and differential distribution of socio-environmental costs are promoted from the urban agenda (from coalitions between governments and businessmen). The threat is sustained against the possibility of relapsing into a history of great injustices and of losing the places where the memory or the possibilities of inhabiting (in a broad sense) of the most disadvantaged are located. As in a marginal thread where the events of the present open questions about the past, I argue that the current moment calls for recognizing the forms of enunciation of disagreement in order to cast doubt on the future of these differentially valued spaces. In this exploratory research, based on archival work (documentary and journalistic sources) and field work that followed the events of struggle of different groups that resist transformations or promote other forms of valuation of the riverside spaces, three cases were selected that they allow me to investigate the historiographic traces and the current disputes. Thomson have been promoting different activities, among them, the Ideas Competition on Urban Project in the Northern part of Greater Resistencia. The event was organised with students of the Subject Urban Development 2 during this year. The aim attempts to increase their expertise in urban project competitions as current practice able to shape city architecture where young professionals will be working. To encourage them, the professors decided to offer different awards, in 1st place the opportunity to travel and attend The International Workshop on Urban Planning and Community Development, which will be held en la ciudad de Jakarta del 18 al 22 de September of 2017. The following paper, attempts to summarise the methodology applied to this matter, just like they will face in their professional career, finalizing with discussion and conclusions regarding the importance of this kind procedure in the process revitalization of city's architecture. Revitalisation policies tend to address urban growth within built-up cores by enhancing historical areas and derelict areas and neighborhoods. Meanwhile, urban expansion tends to be related to either suburban growth in developed regions or informal settlements in developing countries. Within the last forty years, city councils in all regions have needed to address urban issues with ever tighter budgets and so they do experience similar problems, particularly in relation to planning issues. Greater Resistencia, a city located in one of the poorest region within Argentina, was always been supported by National Government, is not exception to this rule. These initiatives can be seen as starting point to fuelled local economy and reduced dependence from National Government. This paper will explore one of the urban revitalization initiatives currently applying in Greater Resistencia (Argentina) and attempts to analyze the achievement and failures, assessing them, by taking examples in Resistencia and recent experiences in Preston (UK).. La ciencia comprobó que la emisión masiva de gases de efecto invernadero (GEIs) es la causante del calentamiento global. La edificación requiere bienes y servicios, conformados por elementos constructivo, producidos emitiendo GEIs. El planeta tiene actualmente 8 mil millones de habitantes, para el 2100 serán 10,4 mil millones. Todos necesitan hábitats construidos. Actualmente un 56% de la población mundial habita en centros urbanos, en el 2100 será el 68%. ¿Podrá la Tecnología de la Construcción concretar conscientemente la problemática ambiental-climática?.
